Maggie, I am so glad to read your peony article today! I had never tried to grow them before because their awesome flowers intimidated me, convincing me that anything that amazing must surely be hard to cultivate! Now I have gained confidence to plant some roots this year. Thank you for all your first-hand knowledge shared through beautifully crafted words.

Maggie strikes again! See, see, gardening "outside the box" is soooo much fun...although there can be heartaches...when those treasures wilt and die or don't return a another year, but hey, all the more reason to go plant shopping again!

But I only share the long-term no-failers on the site, Gail, so folks don't HAVE to commit as much plantacide as I did in past years! But you keep trying more new 'outsiders' too, cause that's the fun bit - the learning and discovery of it all. And let us know your Eurekas! It was marvelous to see all the new varieties in the nurseries this weekend - so much NEW trial fodder. I was at Bj's tonight, her place is out of the box and crossing oceans!

WHAT? You and BJ met without me!?!??! Well, I never!

Well, okay, maybe before we knew you we'd meet without you...wait...oh yeah, never mind. I saw her last weekend and you weren't there...did you spend an hour on her lovely new patio area? Did you notice the potting bench that Sonny built? And what goodies did ya'll trade? Hey, you know, Sonny was gone last night, I would have LOVED another spin through her yard...what were you two up to without me...hmmm, now I'm suspicious!

I'd answer all those gazillion questions by phone if you'd get off the web, so I could get through ;-)

I didn't know Sonny made her bench. He should go into the business. It was great!

Here's one answer that David will enjoy.. I had to go over there to pick up plants I'd bought on our Sunday plantathon. Somehow, they had gone home with bj

Sonny makes the benches for whoever is willing to pay the cash...he'll even do heigth and width wishes. Ooooops, sometimes I forget to quickly get off my computer and go to Sonny's (he has the individual phone line so as not to disrupt REAL phone calls)...it's so hard to leave mine when it downloads lovely garden pixes soooo much faster. I'm still waiting for whoever it is to put DSL lines out my way. You'd think we were in the boonies! And as far as your excuse to go to BJs without me...umph....I'm not falling for it! Unless that's ALL you came home with but I have an inkling that you managed to find a few other pretties that she dug up for you....

I could use a bench.......and YES, I am enjoying the Plant switch.....Gee, how in the world could BJ accidently take YOUR plants. She must have been just confused????? You know BJ never met someone else plants that she didn't LIKE !!!!!!

Ouch! Ouch! Sonny is flogging me for even MENTIONING the bench-thing! He's sooo busy becoming a famous c&w player that he's going crazy with projects...but David, he could be bribed to make at least ONE more if the price were right. Heck, maybe I should make 'em and quit my 8-5!

OK is it me, am I a year behind. I just read a great article on paeonies on the come stroll. Some of your most colourful writing to date Maggie. Your words were like butterflies alighting on my screen. (see I can do it too) :)
