I titled it February's High Bloom, but I don't think the editors caught the double entendre, cause they changed it in the paper!
Hope you enjoy.
Just when I thought I didn't have room for a mag, you go and show the beauty blooming to remind me how much I love them. Now where will she go......hmmmmm....
I love the "Hi" Bloom pixes! thanks!
I can tell how much you are in front of me now Maggie, will be at least another month before my Magnolia shows sign of flowers, and even then it may get frosted. I think your quince may be the same as mine, such a lovely pink, you are correct not to clash it with the yellow. I can see why you love your garden, year round interest does it for me too.
Thanks guys, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it. The Mag. s. opened full on the exact day the article ran - I was feeling smug ;) My stellata however, only just opened its 1st white star. It seems to be one of those that would rather a higher pH than what you saw come out from under the house. I should probably be kind and put it in a pot. I have seen one about 10 mi from me that is 4-5ft tall and solid with blooms - in a neglected yard. Mine is fed pampered and watered, so I suspect it is the pH thing.
This is great to learn when our winter ends (bloom wise) and spring starts, compared to yours in No Eng Terry. I've seen us be 4-6 wks ahead of northern gardens over here and there, but could never pin point the turning point. That's great.
You would die for the stellatas around here Maggie, I never got around to finding a spot for one, but I know a few gardens where I can drive past and enjoy someone elses.
I'm with you on that T. There are some ancient wisteria standards on my street that I partake of, in lieu of keeping one here!
