I know you've already read this one Gail, but now there are picies too. So just in case anyone else is still coming to the forum ;-), here's warning that there's a new come strollie up.

Good article, Maggie. And...good idea. I hadn't thought about buying the pansies early and "intentionally" holding them over until the summer-flowering plants had died back. Notice the emphasis on "intentionally", because I have a seriously bad habit of buying plants and somehow not getting them planted for ages. Now, when people ask why I haven't planted those plants I just had to have a month ago, I'll reply with, "Oh, I'm holding them over until their optimum plainting time." Can't wait to use that line!

It may make a great 'out' line for you Caro, but also a great money saver! I learned to do this the hard way, having lost too many babies by leaving them in the nursery pots. Then if they did survive, they would get so root bound that they never would develope well once they finally were set into the beds.

That's also why there are shelves of potted plants on the patio, because I also try to keep moving perennials up to larger pots until they bedded in. BTW, those transplanted into terra cotta pots always do better for me than those from the same flat that are moved to larger plastic pots... more oxygen to the roots.

Written like a pro Maggie J
The flower/nut arrangement at the top is excellent. In fact I must confess, I did right click.

I loved hearing that Terry :-), wallpaper away!
There has always been a bouquet or two hanging around the house, but the min I committed to doing one for each monthly page, it became more of a challenge than when making them just for the family! So it’s really nice to know some else appreciates the effort oxoxo thankyou! I know they do not conform to proper flower arranging standards - its not the intend. I don't care too much for the rigid formality and rules of competition arrangements - probably couldn’t master it anyway. :-) I post mine to share more of what's blooming each month and always hope they express exactly what they are... a gardening enjoying her harvest! Thanks again
