God luv ya, Maggie. Your Saturday Star Telegram articles always touch my heart. Red flowers.....yes, it must be a guy thing. I don't know why, but I don't like red flowers in my garden.....pretty pastels are much more to my liking. They don't scream at you like red and in the heat of summer, pastels are so much more soothing.
But, back to Valentine's Day bouquets. My lover boy of 35 years was ever sweet to remember me with a beautiful bouquet and thankfully, it only had 3 red roses in it.....the other flowers were in shades of pinks, lavender, white, etc. And, you know, the three red roses crumpled up and gave up the ghost first. I KNEW they would! But, sometimes, one learns, it is best to keep lips sealed, be grateful and smile sweetly keeping knowledge of certain things within......know what I mean???
Thanks for all the good work you do. Saturday is my favorite day, to race out to get the Home and Living section of the paper with Maggie's articles (wish they were weekly instead of every other and wishing that section were twice as long....must write the ST about that) and also love Saturdays to watch HGTV with my favorite being "A Gardener's Diary". Just too bad that most of the gardens visited are in Georgia or North Carolina!
Was thinking of you yesterday Linda, while at Marshall Grain on E Lancaster. They had 2 darling garden orn. hedgehogs. They now have one :-)
Love hearing you enjoy my newspaper work oxoxox thank you
I can't believe you would remember that I was looking for little hedgehog ornaments, Maggie! I did find the cutest little guy, cement, about 6" high, at that Import Place behind Camp Bowie, where the Laz-y-Boy store was a few years ago. I think they have now moved down the Blvd.......I'll check on the M.Grain ones too. Thanks....you're a peach!
