Too bad the Boa didn't get in on this thread, but none the less, there's plenty more creepy stuff in garden for Halloween.
How bout this Killer Worm. I remember seeing all sorts of crisis warnings about them in British garden writings about 5 years ago. It was reported that they eat our valuable earthworms. Have never seen them referred to over here, although I think it is the same as what caused panic over there. The head is sort of arrowhead or spade shaped, except it can contract when slithering, as in this pic. Very slimy - lives in wet chinks. I only see them during monsoons such as we have been having this month. Found this one under a pane of discarded glass. Nicola... what's the latest on it over there?
NOT taken in my garden - they are not that tame here ;-)
Wouldn't be Halloween without a grave yard - here's my dead-pot plot.
:-)
And Terry's web
and we thought Terry had scary-sized slugs.
They must be real monsters in Greece - big enough to need glasses.
(Over there, they must say "its English to me")
Okay, let's try this - sent from someone who would rather not own up to it ;-)
Lacking a bat,
here's a plant named 'Batface'
Nicola - see top post and pic of flat worm
re flatworm. Nothing much in the news recently, originally from New Zealand I think, they have been found in this country and there was a panic some time ago with warnings that our entire earthworm population was about to be devoured by these predators but it has not happened.
