I think this movie was supposed to end on a hopeful note, but as a gardener I saw disaster. I don't want to give the plot away by saying more. Have you seen this movie? What do you think?
No, haven't seen it. I've picked 2 bad movies this week, and my husband has revoked my movie picking privilege. Is The Professional on direct tv or something like that, or is it a new release?
My husband rented the video. It had been recommended on Internet Movie Database. The hero is a professional killer, so there's some shooting. One early scene was pretty unpleasant, but I happened to walk into the kitchen just as it was getting started. I stayed there until the worst was over.
The hero was not a participant in the grisly scene, and he ends up taking care of the only survivor - a 12-year-old girl.
The gardening angle is that the hero has a cherished house plant, an aglaonema.
When I want to know about a movie, I ask the kids - they never miss a one! Their report on The Professional was good and they mentioned the plant without me asking, mom grinning here. You have me intriqued Susan, so I will add it to the 'rent next time' list. We recently saw 'The Green Mile'. .. wonderful!
I think that the film you are talking about was released over here under the title ‘Leon’ starring Jean Reno as an emotionally stunted hit man and Gary Oldman as a corrupt DEA officer. It is a fantastic film even if it is a little gory, I have seen it at least three times, and that has got nothing to do with the fact that Gary Oldman (very easy on the eye isn’t he girls) is in it. It is being shown on TV here this evening.
We watched The Long Kiss Goodbye with Geena Davis and Morgan Freeman this afternoon, great fun.
Most recent favorite still in theaters: Remember the Titans. Thought it was football movie -- ugh -- and found it to be uplifting and inspiring and NOT focused on football.
