Related to the Amaryllis family, these old crinums are grave-yard-tough and known locally as `wine in milk´ lilies. The bulbs were passed to me from a deserted garden and I also hope to source some newer hybrids. Pink-faded blooms of an oak-leaf hydrangea (H. quercifolia) frame the scene.
